This was an awesome hike. I was on my way to Rhode Island for some training and I figured I would spend the weekend hiking in the White Mountains since it was on the way. The summi twas still frozen but most of the way up was relatively warm. The summit however was very windy and cold. The view on Mount Washington is spectacular. The castles are small rock formations that stick out from the ridge leading up to the Jeffeson summit and offers beautiful views over a ravine.
